There’s a lot of Live Music around on Sunday afternoons. If you’re out and about stop in to hear some of these bands:
Tame the Lyons at the Salt Water Brewery in Delray, the Future Prezidents at Harbourside in Jupiter, Justified at the Old Key Lime House in Lantana, the NattyBos at Johnny Q’s in Palm Springs, or Random Play at Two George’s in Boynton. At 5 PM County Line Road will be at the Seaspray Inn on Singer Island and the Moonburn Orchestra will be at the Living Room in Boynton. At 7 Red Sails will be at Copper Blues in CityPlace.
There’s also the Sunday Jazz Jam at Double Roads in Jupiter – not a band, but the musicians sound like they’ve been playing together for years! Vocalist Melinda Elena of the Elegant Mess band will be joining in today.
For all you North County music fans that can’t make it to the downtown street parties tonight, there’s plenty of Live Music close to home!
Late afternoon you can start up at Tiki 52 at the Blowing Rock’s Marina with Acoustic Soul easy listening rock favorites, or indie rock from the Dog Hearts at Guanabanas, Brandon Lee at the Square Grouper, Hot Curl at Shickwreck’s, the Max Band at Harbourside, or Joe Birch at Double Roads.
Later in Jupiter it’s Solstice Reign at Average Joe’s, Thunder Road at Uncle Mick’s, Crazy Fingers acoustic at Leftover’s, The People Upstairs at Maxi’s, Leisure Chief at Guanabanas, County Line Road at the Square Grouper, and Big Vince and the Phat Cats at Double Roads.
Palm Beach Gardens has On the Rox at Downtown, the Sierra Band at Paddy Mac’s, and the Booty Call Band at Swamp Grass Willy’s.
The Brewhouse Gallery in Lake Park has The Inverted and the AstroMaps.
Hurricane Erica is gone, but we’ll get some rain. The street parties at Respectable’s and Propaganda are still on, but here’s some dry spots to head to just in case:
Boca has lot going on downtown including Tame the Lyons at the Funky Biscuit, Francene at the Dubliner, and 33 Years at the Biergarten. Other good Boca choices are Mylo Ranger and Raggy Monster are at the Funky Buddha, Rare Form at Turn 3, Mompirris at the Blue Martini, and Uptown Express at the Pavilion Grille.
Of course Delray has a bunch, too! Stone Mojo plays all afternoon at Deck 84 while County Line Road jams at Boston’s, followed by the Super Fuzz later on. IKO IKO is performing at the Arts Garage, Solid Brass is at Johnny Brown’s, Spider Cherry at 3rd and 3rd, Guavatron and Gator Wine at the Vintage Tap, and the Southside Blues Band at Kevro’s. Chasing Oceans has Dada’s late night spot.
Boynton? Crazy Chester at Two Georges for early evening rock, The Flyers at the Banana Boat, and the Sting Police (a Police Tribute band) are downtown’s best bets. Over at Elmo’s its 56 Ace bringing the excitement!
Lantana – try Tailored Soul at Jack’s Grouper, DeeCode at Heros, or Cover Up at the Old Key Lime House.
Lake Worth – Maurice Frank at 6:30 and The Holidazed at 10 at the Bamboo Room overlooking the street party, The Castaways at Brogues, Stark at the Havana Hideout, Volagio at the Rhum Shak, and Cannon and Cohen are all good choices.
Out in Wellington Turnstiles, an excellent Billy Joel Tribute band will be at the Amphitheater. Palm Springs has the Swamp Dogs at Johnny Q’s, and Connolly’s Sports Bar in Royal Palm has Razin Kane.
West Palm – Lafayette’s? Still not open, but CityPlace has the E Side Project, Runaway Mile at Copper Blues, and Oro Blue at the Blue Martini. Starting from the waterfront end of Clematis Bradley’s has the Future Prezidents, the World of Beer has Fuse, the Tin Fish has Westminster Trio, Grease has the Jeff Harding Band, and O’Shea’s has Panic Disorder.
It’s gonna be a great music night!
It looks like a contest to see who can have the most bands in one weekend! Tonight Respectable’s is hosting Rivers EP Release Party with Peyote Coyote and Kids playing, too. $10 cover gets you in to hear all three bands and you get a copy of the EP to take home! But Propaganda has 4 bands for only $5 bucks – Butch & The Fat Doobs, Blackball, 1 Hit Left, and 84 Sheepdog!
On Saturday it looks like Propaganda’s Summer Daze Concert and Street Party is still on! Tribal Seeds, The Expanders, Arise Roots and a lot more will be
moving to Fort Lauderdale to play at Revolution Live instead. playing on J Street in Lake Worth!
Respectable’s is going ahead with 28 bands on 5 stages for their 28th Anniversary Party. Free Pizza from 8 to 9 pm, too! To find Respectable’s, just look for this landmark mural on Clematis Street:
Whoops – we just heard the mural’s gone – a better one is being painted to take it’s place!
Happy Birthday RSC, and Thank You Prop for giving a lot of local bands the chance to show their stuff in front of live audiences!
